Cutting-edge sensors and video authentication technology that use RFID and wireless sensor networks encompassing the land, sea, air and outer space make it possible to provide a variety of data concerning all aspects of urban life for advanced authentication. This data can be effectively visualized, accumulated and used in many scenarios, such as for early detection of earthquakes to enable preparedness throughout the Smart City, for monitoring of long-distance highways through the use of optical cable sensors, and for advanced biometric recognition in which video data is also used.
The data acquired through sensing is continuously authenticated via location and condition validity checks. Since the amount of urban authentication data in a Smart City is enormous, advanced NEC authentication technologies renowned for high-speed processing and precision are employed to ensure genuine real-time authentication.
Along with monitoring the normalcy of sensing, authentication, control and other conditions, information is reported in real time to the required locations upon detection of anomalies. For example, when an anomaly occurs, this is relayed along with video or other data in real time to the required locations to allow effective prevention of crime, accidents and most critically for the Smart City as a whole disasters.
Monitored data is analyzed in real time and the optimum control information is determined and transmitted. For example, air conditioning inside buildings can be controlled more precisely through the use of location information, resulting in the creation of an environment that is better adapted to the needs of the people who work there.
Robust remote backup functions capable of withstanding local disasters can provide required information without users being aware of the location of hardware and data. Moreover, rapid and flexible response is enabled for services whose contents change according to the situation and the lapse of time.
For example, residential services can be tailored to individual districts and resources can be flexibly allocated for maximum effect when large amounts of processing are required.
