With our cutting-edge computing technologies, NEC has created data centers that reduce installation space and slash power consumption by 75 to 80 percent. We have also developed a vector super computer with advanced image processing capabilities ideal for predicting disaster events such as flooding caused by tsunamis. In networking, NEC has a wealth of global experience in supplying submarine cables and compact microwave radio communication systems. NEC was also one of the first companies to become involved in SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and the creation of virtual networks. We have long been promoting the formation of industry standards for SDN, and were the first company to market SDN-compatible products. In the software field, NEC boasts an impressive lineup of world-beating technologies, including face recognition, crowd behavior analysis and other top-class media processing technologies; and advanced, proprietary analysis technologies such as invariant analysis that can be used to detect signs of failure, and heterogeneous mixture learning that enables highly accurate forecasting from large volumes of data. NEC also provides a wide variety of solutions that utilize artificial intelligence technologies. NEC is committed to creating new value by utilizing its strengths in these three areas.
